Lucie Borleteau’s second feature outing, Chanson Douce , is an adaptation of Leila Slimani ’s eponymous novel. Myriam, a mother of two, decides to return to work despite her husband’s reservations. They find Louise ( Karin Viard ), a babysitter who immediately wins the affections of the children. Soon, however, a co-dependent relationship ensues and eventual tragedy.
